So a while back I got an HDMI cable to use to connect my Directv HD receiver to my Sony Bravia tv. When I bought the cable, I hooked it up from the receiver to one of the inputs on my tv, switched to that input and no problem, crystal clear picture. Well the other night a friend asked if I could bring my HDMI cable over to his place to use to watch baseball from his computer feed on his HDTV. I was going over there to hang out anyway so I thought sure why not. So I went over there and did that. When I came back and tried to hook it up to my tv/reciever again, I did the exact same thing I had done originally and had not changed any settings on my tv or receiver, but got an "Invalid Format" on the screen. I tried every HDMI cable input on my tv, tried changing settings on my tv, tried changing settings on my directv, and nothing will get this invalid format to go away. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Only advice I can give is make sure the TV and receiver are off when you connect the cable.

I get a problem like this too. My HDMI worked fine with DirecTV, but we just moved to a new house and have Dish. Switching between the Blu-Ray and Dish receiver often my Samsung won't read the HDMI for the Blu-Ray. It says "weak or no signal". Cussing, stomping, and hooking and unhooking, wiggling, yelling at the dog--I do all of that and eventually it works.

Try this

Turn the channel to 79
Switch Native to off.
Only select 1080i and uncheck the rest
