Hawks make it through season arrest-free

Actually, the taxi driver claimed that Clayborn slapped him. But you obviously know more than me, Clayborn and the victim. How exactly did it go down again?

It's pretty damn sad there has to be a story stating that there we're no arrests or rapes or coverups for once in a very long time. Very, very sad.

Nothing says "justifying your own job" like giving an interview talking about how awesome you are because a group of guys haven't been convicted of any crimes since June.

Well, Chiggy, or whatever his name is, has been on the job for 16 months and in that time only 9 players have been arrested. If that's a success, then good job by him.

Hey, the way things were going, it's at least a step in the right direction, isn't it? You see Hawk fans bashing ISU fans for celebrating what amounts to be the same record as Iowa's worst season since 2000? Most of us are supportive, but hey, do what you gotta do.

It's been a "step in the right direction" for over a year now. For some reason, everyone in the media always defaults back to April of 2007 whenever a player gets in trouble. Cyclone fans dutifully play the role of mice following the pied piper and go right along with it.

If you go back a year - not 2 1/2, Iowa hasn't been any better or worse than any school in the country. Every time a player has gotten in trouble - all 3 of them, to the best of knowledge - it's been alcohol related.

Actually we (ISU fans) are celebrating the fact that Rhoads accomplished more in his first year that what Ferentz did in his first year.

Oh boy, now that the can of worms has been opened....

Sure you are. I was always under the impression that ISU fans hated it when the Cyclones were compared to Iowa. In fact, I believe somebody here wrote an article about that very thing.

In fact, it's 10 paragraphs that tells you why.

Why is your only response to try and bag on ISU fans, instead of addressing what my post said? My post was directly related to the original post - do you have something that addresses that?

And your post was just as antagonistic as you claim his to be. If you can't agree with the premise that it's a "step in the right direction," then you must be pretty jaded.

My post wasn't antagonistic; it wasn't even responding to a Hawk fan. I simply pointed out how ridiculous it is to give an interview patting yourself on the back for another group of people accomplishing something that should be second nature. I've never been arrested, but I haven't been giving out interviews on the topic to anyone who will listen. I would say the exact same thing if ISU had the need to hire someone to teach kids that it's wrong to break the law, and they went around patting themselves on the back for 6.5 months of success.

Yes, it's better than 19 arrests in 18 months.
