The hawks are a legit top 5 team.what did you think was gonna happen.

O line-D line the best in country name a team that is as good as hawks on both lines.

College football starts up front, if not good up front ,you get killed against good teams.

G:v_SPIN:et better every week thats all you can ask.

But they looked so much more aggressive than we did.:swoon::SLEEP::v_SPIN::sad::spinny:

Let's not get carried away. For reference, OkSU beat ISU in Ames last year 34-8. As I recall, they too had their subs in towards the end of the game. Much like today, OkSU had almost 500 yds of offense, and held ISU below 300. Much like today, OkSU intercepted ISU three times. OkSU actually had a greater TOP differential than Iowa did today. OkSU was #18 at the time.

Beating up ISU doesn't make you top 5...

Agreed, thought Ok State was the best team ISU faced last year.

How many of OSU's 34 points were off turnovers?

Iowa had 28 in the first half alone without any TO's. I didn't watch the ISU/Ok. St. game last year, so I guess I can't really speak to how they looked, but Iowa physically dominated that game today. Most plays ISU's DT's were pushed 3-5 yards off the line on every play.

Beating ISU badly doesn't automatically mean you're a top 5 team, but I've rarely seen a team get as physically dominated as ISU got today in that game. ISU's defense really looked like an FCS defense out there.

Time will tell if Iowa is that good or not...no one knows right now. But I can safely say this: Iowa's defense looks to be as good as it was last year, and the offense looks dramatically improved.....so just going based of that, it is pretty safe to assume that Iowa will be a pretty damn good team this year.

Did you look at the OkSU box score? They had 334 yards rushing last year and 3 sacks of AA. They physically dominated ISU as well...

Well, offensively I can't really compare....but I can tell you for damn certain their wasn't anyone in the country that would have told you OK St. had one of the best defenses in the country....Iowa has that luxury this year.

I guess I'm probably splitting hairs. My point is this: Iowa was a top 10 team last season, and this years team looks better on offense and equivalent on defense. So I'd say it is a damn safe bet to say Iowa is top 10, and it wouldn't be too unreasonable to conclude Iowa may be top 5.
