Hawkeye preview - they expect a close, tough game

A decent amount of respect with a few expected jabs on their preview of facing I-State:

I guess I can understand it from an outsiders perspective, especially one who admitted in the coloumn that he purposely tries to avoid Iowa State news, but the lack of respect for our Recieving corp is going to be a lot of fun to look back on, I think.
"Kempt finished the season with 1787 yards for a 66% completion rate, 15 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Not bad at all, but he only eclipsed a 150 passer rating against OU. He also had one of ISU’s most talented receivers in history catching his passes. Well, he gone, and so are the other receivers. "

... They need to work on their basic reporting skills: getting the basic facts right. They said, "then threw a 54 yard touchdown to Allen Lazardfor the lead" about the OU game. We all know that it was a 25 yard touchdown pass.

"But the Cyclones should have a decent offensive line blocking..." he must not remember DM breaking 87 tackles last year in that game. The OL had little to do with the run game last season. They weren't good. I think we are all just hoping that gets better this year.

It was pretty obvious the author of that column didn't major in JLMC.

Also - the subtitle talked about this year's contest possibly being "the closest in recent memory", conveniently forgetting that last year's game did, in fact, go to overtime and was settled by 3 points.

I'm guessing that's written by a freshman.

It's a blog, not a newspaper. They're going to get a lot of stuff wrong. Have you ever ready any posts on this site?

He's a moron. Our WRs are all gone? Lazard is the one who caught the 52-yard go-ahead TD against Oklahoma? (It was Ryen). Our pass defense sucked? If you look at just those stats, yes, but we were also the third best team against the pass yardage wise in the Big XII last year. The completions against stat he's talking about is because we let them catch it underneath and rally to the ball to hold them to short gains. Look at yards per completion and we probably fare pretty well nationally.
