MLB: Hanrahan Pirates closer

Closer for the Pirates. Kind of like hospice in baseball isn't it? You can't really help by that time but maybe keep it from being too uncomfortable.

Seeing this has become an argument already I will go ahead and throw this in there...

Will the Pirates have a winning season this year or are they going to extend their streak of futility?

Should we be congratulating him or sending him our condolences? :jimlad:

Be careful or you might not be classy anymore.

Yes, the Orioles too are stinking it up every year. I can't begin to state otherwise. Also, I wasn't taking a shot at the player at all. He's still got a job in the game and thats great, I wish I could have ever come close. But, the Bucs stink and will continue to stink, if its not classy to say so, oh well.

Did you quote the wrong guy?

As far as the Orioles go, I personally think they turned a corner the second half of last year and are going to surprise a lot of people this coming year. They may not be ready to compete with the Big 3 yet (Boston, New York, and Tampa), they could still finish in last. But, considering the turnaround Showalter sparked at the end of last year plus with how active they were in free agency this offseason (Hardy, Guerrero, Lee, and Jones), they're nobody's walkover anymore.

No, I busted on the Pirates and got told to 'stay classy'

I definitely liked the O's finish but its like ISU trying to hang with the OK's and Texass of the world. Tough work no matter what. Also, while I like that they added people, I'm not too impressed with the actualy people they added!
