Hamilton's dad on Greg

So when people ask certain "insiders" what is going on with the program and they tell everyone that good news is coming soon and everything is moving in the right direction but they forget to mention info they have access to such as what a players parent had to say which coincidentally matches exactly what WJ said and he was crucified for they choose to keep that information hidden. Interesting. I always thought an insider was someone that would share information whether it is positive or negative? Is that not the case?

Edit.... furthermore.... Did the insiders know before the announcement that Ham was leaving? It didn't appear that they did which only furthers the point that they are only insiders of the GMAC fan club. That is far different then being an insider of the Men's basketball program.

Assuming I am thinking of the same people you are discussing... I think that yes, they are positive, and fans of GMac. But I think they are generally posting their opinion and state it in such a way (and often flat out state "In my opinion").

And in cases where they don't, it's no more frustrating that when people on the opposite end of the spectrum post their opinions as facts.

I think everyone can agree that they're frustrated with the state of things the way they are... though we all handle it differently. Some of us feel that being positive can help affect a recruits perception of Iowa State while others feel that it has no effect and think the best thing they can do for the program is to voice their displeasure in hopes we can get rid of McD as soon as we can.

The thing we all share in common is that we're doing/arguing for what we each individually think is best for the Iowa State basketball program... which for the last year or so has been polar opposite ends of the spectrum.

But I think it's unfair to call out the other side as 'the bad guys' (though I'll admit I've been guilty of that). Both sides are passionate about what they believe is best for Iowa State.

I'll admit I used to be on the "Always be positive as you never know who is reading what you're writing guy". And I truly believe that Greg McD is doing his best and has had a spell of bad luck. And I'm not saying it's not his fault at all... and for the record... I consider myself to be on neither side anymore but just a spectator riding out the storm.

It's been too draining to come home from work to get upset on a message board anymore. And as long as we're a divided fan base (half pulling toward helping Greg find success, half pulling for getting somebody new in to find success)... I don't see us ever finding a solution.

One side has to give before we see improvement and I've given up arguing, as maybe Greg leaving is what's best, maybe not... I dunno.

All in all, I think we all want what's best... so I have to respect those who argue for their side in a respectful and tasteful manner. Anyway... good luck to those still fighting the good fight. Hopefully someday we'll all be fighting for the same side once again... the Cyclones... not the Greg McDermotts or the Non-Greg McDermotts.

You have a few names to remove from your signature line...

Well I didn't give you permission to quote my message if you wanna act like a child about it.

This whole situation is ******* stupid, and just shows how much people overreact to everything these days in here, myself included. I normally stay away from all the drama but this one was too hard for me to stay away from. You guys can continue to badger me and the others that is fine, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Nobody is badgering anybody here. I think people are pretty disappointed about what they have learned today. People who claim to have inside information and spoon feed this board vague positives with nothing to back them up and then when there is credible information that may not be so flattering as far as the head of the program is concerned they try to keep it under wraps. What it has really done is raise a huge shadow of doubt over the agenda of the "insiders". There are quite a few people on here that have pledged their support to GMAC based on what these insiders have been telling them and today they just found out that they were being misled. That is a tough hit for some people to take. These people were led to believe that while specific information was never given to back up these positive claims being made constantly that this information at some point would be backed up with proof. They just got blindsided today with proof that information is being withheld that proves otherwise. I don't blame them for being upset one bit.

The only thing that happened today is the people who claim to have access to inside information lost credibility in a big way. Whether that is good or bad... we shall see.

No all that has happened today is that the people on here that work for JP have lost credibility. There job is to come on here, try and get rid of some of the negativity and push positive things down our throat. Instead today somebody called them on there BS and there is going to be a real serious email tomorrow about what to do.

I won't say insane, but it's confusing. Next year definitely looks bad. Looks like it comes down to how any open dates Houston Baptist has to offer.

As a Clone fan I am very fearful that the program is nearing the point of no return. That point where the 5 years with GMAC (assuming he gets canned next season as he should) will turn into a decade of disaster once he leaves before the program can be turned around. Nobody wants this. I am afraid that is the direction we are heading though. There are Clone fans that if next year goes as people think it is heading may not only call for GMAC's head again.... but for JP's as well depending on just how bad things get. I am seriously concerned that next season could be one of the worst seasons in the history of the program. This is serious and it is seriously bad and nobody seems to have any sense of urgency to fix it. That is very troubling to me.

I have to disagree as well. Their "credibility" was that they had insider info. In no way do they have to reveal any of it. If most of us are calling them Mac homers to begin with, then surely we can't expect them to do anything but consistently give us pro Mac facts....

I think we are in agreement that we don't like where this program is headed, but to me, the JP/Mac brigade has done the same stuff they always have...

and here we are to tear them down... do i dare suggest... the yin and the yang?

Not shocking at all. I think Greg has blamed his lack of success on not have the right players year after year. What does that say to his players who work their tales off for a leader that tosses them under the bus.

Greg is the worst type of leader. Says he's of high character and is just the opposite. He's a disgrace to this program.

Greg needs to be fired.... today.

I'm not disagreeing here. I don't see how next year is any better at this point.

Not the time or place to comment on that, but knowing how all of you have reacted today you wouldn't agree with my stance.
And your stance is probably different because you're in the Tiger Insiders Group Gathering Everything Realitive, or TIGGER for short, and no one else is in that group.

haha i see what you did there.

I think many of the posters have the ability to see through BS. After a while, the staggering load of bad events simply defies BS explanation.

The really sad thing is that some of these posters haven't been above throwing out personal attacks of "haters" at others that have a valid, justified lack of faith in GMac, and yet they had inside knowledge that directly matched some of those concerns and yet they still choose a path of bashing other ISU fans instead of taking a hard look at the facts. How pathetic is that?

^^^^^^
it wasn't really a secret that Mac was an a$$. I think we have all come to this conclusion. They are mad because now they have nothing to fall back on.
