Just finished watching a very exciting game for the 1A championship. Hallie did just about everything but sweep the floor. I was impressed by her soft touch around the basket and her ball handling, except maybe for one bad pass. She was certainly a woman among girls out there much of the time.

I'm excited to see what she can do when playing with a group of Div I players. She couldn't have won without her teammates, but she was by far the best player on the court for either team, and some of her mistakes were caused by a lack of help from her teammates.

I don't watch much girls b-ball on the highschool level but I was impressed with Maddy Peppers, looked like a player

She played really well but she has the ugliest looking shot (especially free throws) I have seen in quite some time. I think she will excel with other good players around her. Good athlete.

I haven't seen her play yet live. Look forward to her being a Cyclone though.
I called a game earlier this year with DM East and they have some very fun players to watch. If you guys get a chance to watch them tomorrow night, Definitely do.

Only saw bits and pieces of the second half. Wasn't overly impressed. Agreed she has weird free throw shooting technique. Must have had all the good moves when I wasn't watching.

That was an ugly game. It's hard to get a good idea of her abilities when she plays on a team that had 28, 29, and 28 turnovers in the three tournament games (compared to 17, 10, and 15 for their opponents).

I thought Hallie did a good job but has a lot of bad habits that will need to be changed. She doesn't block out well and she constantly brings the ball down to the level that even the shorter players from Mt Ayr could get it away from her. I don't think she will step in and start for BF but should get some minutes next year. We still need a big body because Hallie certainly doesn't have the bulk to take on the posts in the Big 12. I was impressed with the sophomore gaurd from Mount Vernon in the second game. Stolkowski has a ways to go but has a nice three point shot and the raw speed to play Div.I level ball. Also, post player Dicus from Mount Vernon looked good. I think she is junior. I am looking forward to the late game on tomorrow night. Wright against Stokes should be a good matchup. I think DM East may have the better overall team.

She doesn't block out well

Overall I was definitely impressed with her, but this is one thing that bugged me in tonight's game. Because she is tall and has good hands she gets a lot of rebounds, but she really needs to learn to block out better. Not unusual for a high school post.

I wasn't that impressed with her, she is good but not that good. But then again, I go to school at Mt. Ayr so yeah...
Fun game to win tough game to lose. GO RAIDERETTES!!!!!!!

I watched the same game and thought the only player of note was 6'1 Mika Rodewald of Manson - NW Webster! She was fluid and athletic but seemingly lost some aggressiveness after she took that ball / shoulder to the face.

Mt. Vernon was physical and had five - 6' bodies to throw around on the interior. I think they said Dicus' father was the offensive line coach at Cornell College, and it showed as her game was weak-side rebounding.

Interesting matchup of "power" versus "grace" - power prevailed!

Sounds like Hallie may be more like we expected Poppens to be this year. Young and raw. By no means do I think they are the same type of player. Pop is all motor power inside, with little or no outside game. That A-P weight room obviously benefited more than just NFL football players. That may have made it easier to make a splash on the scene this year.

From the descriptions I've seen, Hallie seems to be more of a finesse player, with an bit of an outside threat. More like Wieben, just not as refined due to playing against 1A talent and apparently not playing AAU ball last year. Can't wait to see how she grows and develop under the tutelageI of BF and and coach.

I didn't see her play, but I doubt if she's as good as Kiah Stokes from Linn-Mar, or Rogers from Kennedy? And my fear is that Bluder might get both Stokes and Rogers next year?

If that happens, Iowa will probably be better than ISU, and that will be HORRIBLE!

Stokes, Rogers, and Printy will be a awesome combo I'm afraid. I hope Stokes goes somewhere else because I've heard Rogers is going to Iowa for sure.
