Help: Green boxes next to my CF name

Maybe I should know this, but I can't figure out what the green boxes next to our user names on Cyclone Fanatic are for.

Mine looks like this:

I've seen some that have only the five brigher boxes and none of the darker ones.

Now, I will sit back and enjoy the cleverness and hope that I get the answer also.

You used to be able to see who had the most rep, bring back that feature while you're at it.

Visual representation of # of rep points. It maxes out quickly. If you hover your mouse over them it should give some little cute saying about your rep.

Most seem to have 5 bright squares to the left and 6 dark squares to the right, but I've seen one that has only a few bright squares. It all seems rather meaningful, but is not clear to me.
