We lost 4 NFL players and an experienced o-line and are looking at a Big 12 title if it weren't for
- A freshman kicker missing a 37, 38, and 45 yard field goals against Kansas.
- A 25-year old, 7th year Senior whiffing an easy sack, leading to an 81 yard TD pass against Kansas State
- An NFL caliber receiver dropping an easy pass against Texas
- Another quality receiver dropping a TD pass against Oklahoma State
And none of that includes some inexcusable coaching on our offensive staff, a pathetic excuse for special teams, and the officials handing Baylor 45 yards on certified ******** penalties.
I'm incredibly frustrated because we COULD be (one could argue SHOULD be) at worst, 8-2 right now. I mock Nebraska for thinking their program needs 9-win coaches or they should be fired, and I refuse to be that guy. ****, most of us last offseason were saying we're a rare university he could go 3-9 for a year or two and not worry at all. He frequently talks about how he's more proud and impressed with this team than any team he's worked with before, and while it's frustrating, I see where he's coming from. This offense is young. They've been put in positions to win, and they haven't executed. But again, they're young. As long as he's around, I trust he will make the right corrections next year and I believe we can see the same success we saw the last 3-4 years. Go State.
