Good Article- Sedrick Johnson, Iowa State football

When it's all said and done, I think these two will be among the best we've had. They'll be battle tested this year for sure and will be a great luxury in the next 3.

When is the last time we had 2 stud WR's who were freshmen? I seriously can't remember two that I've been more excited to see.

"(Darks) runs great routes. He's a fast guy, he lines up in the slot for us and he runs great routes. He's a real heady player for a freshman," said sophomore quarterback Austen Arnaud, who will get his first career start Thursday. "Sedrick's just an athletic freak."

Todd Blythe and Milan Moses?

Oh wait, everyone on this board dislikes Blythe...

I dont think that is the case at all. I think most of us were disapointed he never lived up to our hype. He was a great Cyclone and is a Cyclone great. He just never became that All Big 12 WR we thought he would be after his first 2 years of play. The reasons for this are clear to some of us and there was a reason they didnt always throw the ball to Blythe.

Good find. Glad to see newspaper coverage of the Cyclones is as good in Texas as it is in Des Moines.

This will mean we can shuttle people in and out and use the passing game more....

How 'bout if we start stealing 'em from the 'horns, too?

Yep, and having a chronic, life threatening illness had nothing to do with that. Dude, that is in such poor taste.

Agreed. The guy has Crohn's (sp?) disease for crying out loud. It's basically a living hell from my understanding. It's just impressive he even took the field last year...

great article! hopefully some talented texas sophomores and juniors in high school see it and think maybe a chance at immediate playing time is worth going to ames over not playing til they are jr or sr's at texas or a&m.

agree.

My wife jumped up and shouted 'holy crap'! when Sed burned turned on the after-burners on that 72 yard play at the Sat practice.

he has the chance to be really special

If he puts it all together, he'll make you forget Blythe.

I wouldn't call Chrons a living hell, one of my good friends currently has it, and the only thing he has to do is get an IV once a month. But my friends did say that some cases were worse than others, and he got the good end of that. But overall you cant fault Milan he still competed and played hard, and thats all that matters to me.

I'd settle for seniors deciding that. Or are you pointing out that UT and A&M's classes are already full for next signing day?

In Milan's case I'd call weeks (months?) in the hospital and losing what, forty, fifty pounds? a living hell. And it sure as heck doesn't help a football player reach his full potential.
