Anybody using it yet? I haven't gotten an invitation yet, but it looks interesting. What's wrong with the Gmail app that they need this too?

I've started using it on my phone. The web one only works in Chrome and I've stopped using Chrome because it became a memory hog. It also won't work with my work email yet. I'm not sure why they didn't just update the Gmail app. Probably because people would *****. I'm still getting used to it but so far I like it. Seems to keep things more organized

I thought gmail did a pretty good job with very little effort from the user. Is Inbox self-aware, or do you need to spend a lot of time configuring it to your likes?

Ive gotten this lately too. ******* me off. Nothing better than having to kill pages when you are busy working and need info to finish a project.

I used Mailbox for awhile. It was promising. I assume this will be pretty much that but in house for google.

It does seem to be pretty much self-aware. It automatically puts thing in 'bundles' like Promos, purchases, finance, social without you doing anything. It will only notify you for new email from certain bundles and you can mark 'done' a whole bundle. Also, can set reminders for follow-up. That's about as far as I've gotten.

how is it better than the already mobile mail thing on ipod's/iphones?

With one Chrome tab open and no extensions it was using more memory than Firefox with 6 tabs open (including Facebook, Tweetdeck and CF - all 'heavy' websites) and a couple add-ons.
