Assuming we do in fact stick at 10 teams here in our conference, I started thinking about how this could benefit us a lot when it comes to the conference tournament action. Losing the football championship in Dallas but keeping the BB tourney in KC is always a major plus for us in taking over to Hilton South.
Also, I got thinking how the tournament itself would be setup with 10 teams and this is what I came up with. Based seedings on previous tournaments and the idea that the top 8 teams should be the last 8 teams in the tournament.
One of the biggest advantages to this now is that 6 teams will wait to play until the second day. IIRC, no team had ever won the tournament who had to play all four days. This is how I see it working, but just some of my random thoughts at 2:15 am. On the downside, 10 of our 18 conference wins in the past 4 years came against NU and CU but Im sure CFH will get us on the right track to move into one of (my theoretical) Thursday games
