Futurama Fans -- Comedy Central orders 26 episodes

That's pretty awesome, can't believe they're bringing it back after this long. Will all the cast members return I wonder?

Well they did the 3 movies fairly recently so I would assume they have a better chance at getting the voice actors back.

That's great news, just as long as Comedy Central doesn't keep selling four-episode packs for $20 on DVD.

I love Futurama. It is one of those shows where I sadly did not discover its genius until well after the original airings were cancelled and the show was syndicated on Adult Swim and Comedy Central. I proudly own all four seasons on DVD -- highly worth it.

Can't wait for this show to return!

Thats excellent news. I've always liked futurama and as of late(not counting the movies), I've actually started prefering it heavily to the simpsons. Now all that needs to be brought back is Frisky Dingo and The Xtacles and life will be good!

I'd be surprised if Groening would do it without the original cast, and well, disappointed

Hmmmm could be rather interesting without the origional cast... the 4th movie had some differences in animation and the like...

It could be arlight, but probably won't return it to it's previous levels of success.

Still interested to see what happens

Looks like there is still a chance of a deal being worked out (From the first article posted about the voice changes), aka this could put pressure on the origional voice actors to accept less then they were asking for. This could also put pressure on Comedy Central to pay a little higher, as the fan base will not be pleased with this

I'm hoping this is just a negotiation tactic. The story I posted said they've played hardball with the voice actors for The Simpsons, and even went so far as to start casting new voice actors for that show. Hopefully this is just more of the same and everyone comes back.

In the meanwhile, it's going to be rough for the casting directors assigned to find replacement actors who have already started to receive threats from fans of the show.

Kind of sad that people will go out of their way to threaten casting directors who were just hired to do a job. I understand being a dedicated fan and all, but somewhere there is a line between entertainment and reality. And if fans really wanted to voice their displeasure, direct at the voice actors for holding out for more coin or to Comedy Central for not paying them.
