Full Stats and Pics: Cap City 6/27

Yep, got it the first 2 times.

There is nothing wrong with having its own thread, as well as posting it in that continuing thread, where another poster on CF is updating the results.

Not everyone is on here 24 hours a day and would necessarily see it as a result.

Sorry if making these pics easier to find is violating some kind of protocol. I'm being selective on when and where to post, and erring on the side of caution, posting on this thread and starting a new one with each night of the season with fresh pictures and stats from all the games.

That said, I'm also a big fan of this league, and every comment I make on here is not some attempt to bump up the thread: It's to comment and get involved in the discussion. I've attended at least one game each night of the season.

So...I watched yesterday's first game. Georges Niang continues to be the player I'm most impressed with, possibly because I didn't know of him and partly because I kind of expected Clyburn to be strong -- although not 111-points-in-two-games strong. Niang is a tough kid who has a good post game and a good outside shot. He plays tough defense and he is fearless. McGee's speed and ability to finish is what's working best for him. People can say there's not much defense in this league, but they shouldn't underestimate how tough these games are. In yesterday's games, bodies were flying all over the place. The big difference from the regular season is that when someone's flying through the lane, they're generally not whacked in the head -- although I've seen it happen.

THANK YOU for posting! I really appreciate your game/player analysis. It kills me that I can't be there to watch it myself so any tidbits I get about the game are a blessing. When I asked via text for my favorite player to let me know how it goes his response was "we won I did ite". So your details are refreshing along with the box scores.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Clyburn lit it up again at YMCA Capital City Leauge; Okoro not so much. Tough games -- as in lots of flying bodies -- tonight. Here are full stats, photos and story. We'll have more pics up tomorrow. Will Clyburn Lights It Up Again, Kerwin Okoro Shaking Off Rust: YMCA Capital City Leauge, June 27 - Ankeny, IA Patch

Does or can Patch.com do highlights of some of the games throughout the season? I made it to one night and hopefully will make it to another this year, but it would be great to see some of the highlights of each night.

Thanks for the write-ups and stats from the games!

Are you going to be coming to any games this coming season? If so which ones are you planning on attending? Sorry if that sounds like I'm being creepy. Just wondering which teams you want to see your son play against.

Also how many cookies can you bake? Enough for all Hilton?

This is a tricky one. I would love to attend all the games he is going to PLAY in. You can't take anything for granted at this point. I am going to Vegas. My whole family is mother, brothers, sister, niece and nephews. We want to be there to support him whether he is on the court or not. I told him once the schedule came out we would look it over and see what we could do. This will probably make some people upset but who they are playing against might not be a factor. Maybe more away games then home games since Texas and I think Kansas are direct flights. It is really too early to tell at this point. I don't check luggage so no room for cookies.

Yes, Cy. We've had up stats, pics and "sort" of game stories for each game day this year and will continue. I don't want to post the link here because I'm on my best behavior -- ! -- but you can search my name to find them.
