To go with Angie's food theme today.. If you were on death row and had one last meal, what would it be?

I'd have to do some southern comfort food, fried chicken, mac and cheese, cornbread.

So, this is something that I find fascinating. You can go online and find lists of people who have been put to death, and what they've ordered for their last meals. Some of them are fancy, luxury foods. Some are fast food. Some are pretty simple. It's just interesting to think about.

Here are some examples from some well known people:

Ehh....

Why change anything at the end. Keep it consistent.

Can of Chef Boyardee. Cold. Straight from the can like the cowboys ate it

Jacks pizza

Bag of Sterzings and a Mexican Coke.

Then pull the trigger

Here's the one we read once upon a time. Texas discontinued doing this after one inmate ordered hundreds of dollars in food and didn't eat any of it: http://web.archive.org/web/20031202214318/http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/stat/finalmeals.htm

I would probably go yellow curry!

Right now I'm craving a Ribeye, cream corn, garlic mashed, and a 2013 Emollo Merlot. But if I'd been sitting in prison for several years awaiting appeals, etc and hadn't had any "outside food" in that entire time I might have to add on a bucket of KFC fried chicken, a gyro, and a pizza from Great Plains Sauce & Dough with a side of slice bbq beef sandwich from 4-T BBQ in Forney, Texas.

The whole thing is interesting if you think about it

"Hey you just committed this horrible crime and we are going to kill you. But first, what tickles your fancy to eat before you drop dead?"

If I were Ted Bundy, I would've sent those eggs back! Those were NOT over easy!

Yeah, it's so weird. The idea of special meals for inmates other than holidays is just strange.

If anybody should get a special meal it's guys getting out. As a tax payer I'd be happy to hook a guy up with a nice meal when his stretch got over...maybe some prisons do...
