Friday O.T. Backyard Archaeology, What is it?

Other items I have dug up in the yard over the decades were easier to identify. The cat skeleton wrapped in cloth and the partial bed springs for example.

Candy lipstick.

I think it is a lipstick tube. You miss an A because you said candy and not real lipstick. ;)

Think it is like this one except with a rusty steel bottom and steel interior:

Going to do some probably destructive testing to confirm.

It's a petrified cigar.

Caveman would usually roll their cigars in tin foil (tin is paramagnetic) since cigar rolling papers hadn't been invented yet.

Let us see the results. We all want to know if the shade matches to the warm undertones of your skin.

Not sure. No house here prior to 1959 that I know of. Been looking at aerial photos. Most of the houses date to the late 50's and through the 60's. This thing seems more 1940's vintage IMHO. Back then south of me was a huge family acreage (now all houses) and north of me were some scattered small houses and cabins. Old aerials are cool, wish the resolution was better.

Could have been the private dump for the acreage or maybe they got some questionable fill when they were building your neighborhood.
