I know we have talked about this a little bit in a previous thread, but I have to confess-- "Friday Night Lights" might just be one of my new favorite shows. I have started to watch these last few weeks and it is SO good!

Who else LOVES it?

I try to limit my TV shows at night, otherwise I get nothing done at all. I am a Nip/Tuck, Family Guy, Simpsons, and a Survivor fan.

Well, DVR is my new best friend...so that takes care of some of the timing issues. I try to catch up on weekends if I miss it during the week. I also love Nip/Tuck! So dark and twisted...

Amy, while I respect your opinion I am going to have to politefully disagree. I tried watching an earlier episode and couldn't even get through it. Acting was soap opera bad. Maybe a caught a bad episode. But it was bad, i mean really bad.

ooooo, BURN.:baffled5wh:

As an athletic trainer, I've always enjoyed the game of football. I've watched this one since the first episode, and so much of the drama that surrounds this football team can be found in most teams of the high school caliber around the country. This show makes the people on the sidelines real and takes away the "fantasy" many of us see each weekend on the sidelines of high school, college and pro football levels. It is good for the fan to know what many of our "fantasy characters" on those sidelines endure with every hour of every day. I think as Cyclone fans we can relate to knowing a little bit more about the real people that are working the sidelines with the recent moves that have been made in our program. Never forget that they are people too...when criticizing, step back and put yourself in their shoes...would you be saying the things we all tend to say? Kudos to you Friday Night Lights!

So, are you admitting you watch soap operas?? :wink0st:

Thanks for your input. I don't think the acting is all that bad. I think there are a few that are better than others on the show, but it is the story, not the acting, that intrigues me.

Crazyclone21, I agree with you! There is a lot of drama that surrounds the game and we as fans should stay grounded in our criticism.

Started the season watching this show but got caught up in trying to watch too many so 'Friday Nights' didn't make the cut. Those that fall in the category of 'can't miss'....Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal and my favorite, Heroes.

If I hear great things about it I can always get the first season when it comes out.

You can rent the season on DVD, or while all these shows are playing reruns from the first half of the season you could catch up.

I haven't watched Heroes! That is one that looked good, but I couldn't add it to my "can't miss" list. :rofl8yi:

Caught!!! My name is Seneca and I am a Young and the Restless addict!!! : ) the show may be good, i am just going by the 20 minutes or so that I saw. It was not enough to grab my attention. I even went into it thinking it was going to be a very good show. Maybe i just caught a dry spell

Or, maybe your expectations were too high? That happens for me with movies. I go in thinking it's going to be great, but then all the good clips were in the preview.

As for my relationship with FNL--I had no expectations. I was flipping around when nothing else was on and that is where I landed...and was pleasantly surprised.

P.S. That was your 100th post--an admission to watching soaps. Nice! :laugh8kb: Kidding--congrats!

Well no DVR here, but I try to watch what I can.

not to get off subject, but wasnt 60's show last night really good. I liked the New Orleans horns. That was really good.

I like how it hits reality tv while still being a drama show.

I have only watched one episode and it was OK...I liked the show with **** Butttkiss better though.
Speaking of FNL though, when the local team here in New Orleans (John Curtis HS) kicked that teams hiney it was big news down here.

I don't think I know what show you're talking about...

Does anyone else love the fact that "Friday Night Lights" is on on Tuesday night? Anyone?

Amen to all those. I try to catch Friday Night Lights when I can, good show. I thought it was just going to be a corny spinoff of the movie but I have been plesantly surprised.

Any favorites on who is going to win Survivor? I think Yule deserves it but the most deserving usually gets voted out by the final 2. I'm think Parvarti (can't stand her) will sneak into the final 2 like someone always does then maybe someone like Ozzy will win enough immunity to get there too. Been an interesting season that is for sure!
