Scott Howard, NBA scout for Michael Jordan and the Bobcats was on 2 Guys names Jim tonight. He said he spoke with Fred last night and pretty well knows the staff Fred is trying to put together. Howard said if it all comes together it will be an OUTSTANDING staff! That got my attention. Anxious to see how soon Fred can put the staff together. The Tour starting in a couple of weeks should be a lot of fun this year!

I have no doubt Freddie will get the people around him that he needs to succeed. He knows everyone it sounds like and it also sounds like everyone wants him to succeed.
Ideally, I'd like the 'seasoned vet' coach to be a college guy, but that might be a lot to hope for.
One thing is for sure, if Fred can build the type of relationships with the recruits, coaches, parents, AAU coaches, etc that he seems to do with just about everyone else he meets, then we should get in on some good players.

I hear Larry Brown is jockeying with Flip Saunders for the last spot on the staff.

Unless he hires Roy Williams as his assistant. That would really help in recruiting top talent from Iowa which Roy has quite a bit of experience in.:biggrin:
I'm a little weary of NBA guys, but if they get a GOOD coach from the NBA, I'd love it. There are some so so NBA coaches though...
It's kinda humorous that a couple weeks ago posters were arguing that no one with any ability would come here as a HC and now posters are throwing out the same names as assistants. It is kinda funny but at least the hope (and hopefully soon "the magic") is back.
