Noticed this during the first half of the game this morning. Interesting to see where on the floor all our makes are coming from. Oklahoma was making a lot of long 2 point shots there for a while. Harp on the "live by the 3" thing all you want, we live off layups just as much.

Mods: Can you please edit the title to get rid of the warning. I meant it to be witty but it is probably cutting into my credits from starting this thread and I am greedy. <3 u!

I was watching the Nuggets destroy the Knicks last night and the announcers were discussing the Nuggets playing like that, and how George Karl hates long 2-point jump shots.

Of course, we don't play in the paint like the Nuggets and they don't shoot the three like we do.

That just illustrates what this team would be capable of if we had a guy who could consistently hit the mid-range jumper.

This is why I laughed at when KU fans said how does a team get to the line so many times when they shoot the 3 so much? Well, when you have to defend tight on the three it is easier to get by a man and get to the lane.

I like that ejim's bank toss was the only 2 pter outside the lane.

And people wonder why we tend to shoot more free throws than we should. This is exactly why. We don't settle for the 17 foot jumper. It's either a 3 or a drive in the lane inside the paint.

One of the games not too far back the announcers were saying we had the highest 2pt shooting % in the conference as well as 3pt so its not like a bunch of crap is being tossed up.

But the mid-range jumper is probably the most inefficient shot in basketball. With a three pointer, if you shoot 100 2 point shots at 45%, you only get 90 points. If you shoot 100 3 pointers at 37%, you get 111 points. Note that these are our percentages. Also note that inside shots are the second most efficient, after 3 pointers, because the percentage is higher. Technically, the mid-range jumper is a higher percentage shot, but not near as efficient as close shots or 3 pointers

I don't disagree, but it would be nice to at least have that in your arsenal. I'd like to see that same graphic with misses included.

I'm going to be honest, with the graphic content warning, I sat here for about 5 minutes looking at the image trying to form a connect-the-dot P, V, or boobs.

Gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed.
