If things continue to spiral out of contol (which they have over the last 5 months.) will Fred be on the "hot seat" with the ISU administration? I mean, really tell me how many positive things are you hearing about this program? Everyone here wants to jump on the bandwagon of how this program is heading in the right direction because we have open door policy to transfers. We have three current members of our roster who were kicked off a major division 1 program. We have 2 guys that have just been dismissed for drug abuse and later released from the team. We have a young member of this team that has been arrested twice, but has not been kicked off. We hire an assistant coach who has been picked up twice for DUI, one after signing his coaching contract here. When Fred took over the program one of his quotes was that he was going to win "The Right Way." I for one don't like the way this program is looking right now. I do undertsand that not all of this is Coach Hoiberg's fault or should be blamed, but I certainly think that he needs to be held accountable for what is happening of late..... Please discuss!

And just how many of the players that have gotten in trouble been among Hoiberg's transfers? I believe that number is zero. The players getting in trouble are the ones he inherited.

Hot seat? Give me a break.

Worst post ever?

With the mess the men's BB program has been ever since they fired LE it's going to take years of problems before ISU has the guts to even think about firing one of their own legends. You know the saying "it's going to get worse before it gets better" probably fits our program pretty well these days, you sometimes have to take your lumps before you can rise from it.

If Kirk Ferentz can survive all the messes he has endured with his program over the years I would think Fred will be able to do the same if he starts to bring some winning back to Hilton.

NO. He is not on the "hot seat." Besides the last couple weeks I have heard NOTHING but possitive things about Fred and the Program.

Hoiberg on the Hot Seat....ForgetAboutIt.....You're Delusional....

Hoiberg is in tight with our beloved AD and he will be around Ames for the forseeable future...

Gotta be up there with millerforrest saying that McCarthy should be fired

Or millerforrest saying Michael Jordan isn't one of the top 5 players of all time.

Or millerforrest saying that no soccer team should be the #1 most famous sports team in the world.

Or millerforrest......you get the idea :jimlad:

I knew these kind of posts would pop up but I didn't expect it only one year into his tenure. I guess I underestimated the dumbnesss of some people.

Wow every program in the country has these problems. Hot Seat??? What planet are you from. You obviously don't know Hoiberg and what he has meant for ISU. Hoiber could go OJ Simpson and we would rationalize keeping him.

Anyone who failed a final last week needs to read this to realize "Hey, at least I'm not this stupid!"

Yes, Fred is on a hot seat. There is NO doubt about it.

He has been doing yard work all day, and when he went to relax on the patio, the seat he sat on was scorching hot from the records temps.

If your post was even remotely serious, you are...well let me just say I apologize for what I am calling you in my head right now.

I would agree that this post is probably a bit silly, but I will say that the overall feel of the program right now is not as good as most would have expected at this juncture. As such, there will likely be more people trying to make his rope a little shorter. He could definitely use a break from the negative news. Eventually it will feel like death from a thousand cuts.
