Former AAF players suing AAF

I mean, the league shut down cuz they were out of money. When you sue someone who has no money, what do you hope to accomplish?

The individuals are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

Does not matter. I guarantee the contracts the players signed were to the league and not only that it probably has pretty solid wording about the league not making it. This will go nowhere.

So, AAF players are mad AF?

I'm always amazed that anyone is able to attract investors for a start-up football league given that none has ever survived (well, the AFL got merged into the NFL).

But I agree that the deep pockets that they'll go after are the owners, not the AAF as a corporation (blood out of a turnip). That seems like Law 101.

This was mentioned a little bit yesterday in the CW/ADJP podcast. Speculation was that the AAF was hoping that the NFL was eventually going to give them some financial support for being sort of the NFL's minor league. Pollard's comment was that it made no sense for the NFL to do that, since CFB is already basically doing that for NFL for free.
