[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Our records show that you may have used your NetSpend Prepaid MasterCard for internet gambling transactions in the past.

Beginning May 31, 2010, MasterCard and Visa will begin complying with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by blocking all online gambling transactions attempted by U.S. cardholders. This means you will not be able to use your NetSpend card or account for internet based gambling transactions. Internet gambling transactions will be automatically declined to comply with these federal regulations. NetSpend has no control over this change.

Don’t forget there are many great ways to use your NetSpend card. You can pay bills online or over the phone, shop online and make everyday purchases anywhere Visa debit cards or wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted. At NetSpend, we make sure that you are informed and in control of your money.

Thank you,

Your NetSpend Team

Soon the only ways to play will be through echecks link to a bank account.

Major bummer. Anyone know of other ways to navigate around this?

get a different card, and they made that law, then got rid of it. Im wondering if they are starting it again? They blocked all my cards but wellsfargo two years ago, then last year unblocked all of them... i just used a visa two weeks ago. interesting.

I've been playing for years, ever since the Congress in 2006 tacked the UIGEA onto an unrelated port security bill poker players have been expecting the world to end. In reality it is easier and quicker to get money off or on now that it was a few months after the UIGEA passed.

There will always be ways around it, heck I have never even heard of this debit card and I still play quite a bit. Not sure what site you are on but there will always be new options to deposit/withdraw.

This is true. All the gambling websites are constantly tweaking their deposit methods and banks to get around these ridiculous laws.

you can purchase Gift Cards (Visa, MC) if your bank won't allow

this is what my netspend card essentially was, they banned all the gift cards.

sucks echecks only work for certain banks, a couple of my friends are clueless how to get money out of their accounts

settle down there degenerate gamblers...I don't care if you gamble

Online gambling is the epitome of stupidity. Why not just mail your money to me? It'll go to better use. You think the whole system is stacked in favor of the house at a casino, for instance? At least there, they use real cards, so there is some chance you can win. With online gambling, everything is electronic. A computer program decides when to let you win and when not to, and believe me, it will not let you win very often.

i take it you never played online poker

#1. the house does not play, it takes a rake, so why would it need to mess with odds

#2. there are agencies that frequently check to make sure the probability of each hand is correct

#4. poker play is rarely the case of you win because you have the best hand, majority of the time it is won because of personal play.

#5. you just think your getting fished out because you are playing around 400 hands an hour (4 tables at a time) compared to a real casino where it is normally around 20-30 an hour, more hands equates to more probability, more probability means more chances of losses.

think of it this way, if they were ever caught cheating, not only will they lose a really profitable company (that essentially gets money for doing nothing but being bankholder and letting people run their program.) They will go bankrupt from all the lawsuits.

if you know how to play you can make a decent amount doing so. if you dont, well, yeah get ready to **** away your money.

Best option - Google Bankroll Management and study it very well (as well as the game) so you don't have to deposit anymore. I've made one deposit and been playing for years with many withdrawls. My credit/debit cards didn't allow this 5 years ago when I made my deposit before the UIGEA and it still wasn't a problem.

Secondary options - Check out other deposit options on the sites. E-checks, wires, UseMyWallet, etc. The major sites make way too much money not to find new ways for people to get money on the site. They'll keep ahead of the banks because it's in there best interest and they can afford to spend lots of money and time to keep ahead of them. This is one of the major fallacies of the UIGEA. Do bank really have nothing better to do than try to keep up with the sites?
