Football in Ames...

The City, VA to CA
So I'll be in Ames this week and I'd like to attend any football games possible i.e. High School or youth games! Can anyone fill me in??

Also I'd like to get a #7 jersey and I see a lot of people with personalized jerseys, where can I get one??

Regarding the jersey, A lot of the family members of football players have personalized Jersey's. I'm sure your brother could ask around and see where other players family members had their jersey's made...after reading that I realized it wasn't much help at all.

Regarding football in the area. High school playoff football starts this week. I want to say games start on Wed night? I'm sure you'll be able to find one around Ames/Des Moines.
 
The Iowa HS playoffs start this week. Ames HS plays DM East Wednesday night in Ames. Ankeny and Ft. Dodge are both at home Wednesday as well. Second round games are Monday night (10/1). Ballard (Huxley) and Boone are both on the road in the 3A playoffs. Gilbert and Roland-Story are both on the road in class 2A. They also play Wednesday and Monday. Basically, if you are either not here by Wednesday or staying through Monday, you probably aren't going to catch any HS FB.

As for the jerseys, I'd call the FB office. Not sure that those are readily available to the general public.

For some reason I remember Hy Vee in Ames being the place where you ordered your custom jerseys. Don't take this as gospel but thats what I remember.

I have his game jersey from last year but its #5.
 
I remember HyVee in Ames as well to get the custom jerseys. There was a thread on here last year about it, but I'm too lazy to search. That is what I recall though.
 
The best 3A game is probably Webster City vs. Waverly-Shell Rock, both teams are 8-1. Its in Webster City, about a 45 minute drive north of Ames.
