Hey Cyclone Nation

I have had the flu now for about a week and am starting to get better finally. Unfortunately I have had a headache for about a week now and just cannot shake it. Driving me nuts! Still have some weakness and other things but the longevity of the head woes has me alittle worried. Has anyone else recently had the flu? If so then what were your symptoms?

That's the majority of why I ended up staying home earlier this week - the headache that accompanied my cold was awful (almost migraine-bad). My husband had the same thing. I think it might just be part of whatever is going around. Feel better soon, though - try some Aleve.

Could be a sinus infection. With the flu...influenza you typically feel like you've been hit by a truck. Your body aches (muscles and joints feel stiff and sore) you just don't want to move or do anything. Usually you will have diarrhea and vomiting...makes choosing a position in the bathroom interesting. :wideeyed: If your symptoms are all over the board (body aches, GI symptoms, upper respiratory symptoms, headache) it is probably viral, possibly influenza. Sinus infection: sinus pressure/pain (forehead, behind the eyes, area around nose), fever, could also have some upper respiratory symptoms.

You could have a sinus infection if you are having headaches like that. Happens at least once a year with my wife. She gets the cold or the flu, it lasts a few days with a headache, then she starts complaining to me that she can't get rid of her headache. She goes to the doctor and ends up having sinus infection. Takes some drugs and in a day the headache is gone.

Something to consider anyway.

Yes, sinus infection is a plausible possibility. Very common. Not everything is flu.

There was a recent VERY LARGE study on sinus infections done by ENT's (who would typically be seeing worse cases than the average primary care doc) that showed antibiotics did NOT speed the resolution of the infection. I can site if anyone really cares.

Had the same thing last week until I tried a neti pot and it cleaned me right out and got rid of the headaches.
I've also had success with tomato tea in the past. Not sure what makes it work but it does.
1.5 cups V8
1 T lemon juice
1 clove chopped garlic
garlic salt to taste
As much hot sauce as you can handle

Drink it as hot as you can go and it will clear you out. We refer to it around here as Draino. Drink as often as you can.

Wait a second, you pour that crap down your nose?:arghh::huh:

I'm home sick right now. I've felt crappy since Thursday. I can't breathe out of my nose (use the Neti pot 3 times yesterday), my neck is swollen, my throat is sore, I hurt all over and I have a headache. I haven't felt this bad in a while. I'm miserable.
