Misc: Floyd Mayweather to fight Andre Berto on September 12th

Four or five years ago when Berto was an undefeated welterweight champ, they could have sold this as a possibly great fight. Berto has since lost 3 out of his last 5 fights. I see Floyd sticking and moving and playing defense and winning a unanimous decision. Yawn.

Floyd fighting someone 4 years past his prime. Shocker. He'll win, retire, and become an afterthought with no serious consideration for GOAT.

Man I loved Berto about 5 years ago. He never recovered after he lost to Victor Ortiz. I really thought Berto was going to become a superstar. Guy has lightning fast hands and good power. Not sure what he was missing but he never panned out.

The only good thing about this matchup is that Berto has the hand-speed to actually touch Floyd so Mayweather will taste some leather for once.

With all that being said I wouldn't pay a dime to watch this.

I'm WAY more excited to see the GGG vs. Lemieux fight. Some real fireworks expected for that one.

No kidding and Cotto vs. Canelo. Those two fights will both be fight of the year caliber. If/When GGG and Canelo both win, their megafight will be the first must-watch fight in a long time.

I think Cotto takes Canelo down, but could definitely go either way.

GGG-Lemieux? Not sure what to think of that one. GGG has some freakish power, but has not fought anyone with the kind of power Lemieux has. We'll definitely find out about GGG's chin. On the other side, Lemieux's chin is suspect. His best hope is to pour it on GGG and hope he catches him early.

IMO Canelo has too much skill for Cotto his age. Although Cotto has a lot of blunt force when he throws his bombs he could hurt Canelo pretty bad. Either way, I cannot wait to watch it.

I definitely hear what you're saying. It's just that every time I think Cotto's career is on the decline, he puts on a great performance. Canelo will have the speed advantage, Cotto will have the defense/experience. Both of these fights will be highly entertaining!
 
Okay, since nothing else is happening in sports tomorrow I decided to transform my house into a Money May cave and will spend all Saturday watching pre-fight hype programming before the undercard starts. I might even pay the extra ten bucks to watch the fight in hd instead of sd.
