Have a wiring issue with replacing an old ballast with an electronic one.
My problem is I have a new ballast that has different wires than what the old ballast has. From what I could find out that this means the old ballast was a magnetic one. I think there is a way to get the new electronic one to work with the existing fixture but it needs to be rewired. I can't find any specific info on how to do this. I'm hoping there are some electricians or people out there that have some insight on this.
The old ballast has 3 wires; black, white, and blue. The fixture has the following wires; black (from building), white (from building), 2 white from a socket, and a blue from the other socket. The old ballast was wired with the blue on blue. black to building black, white to socket white. The fixture's remaining white was wired to the building white.
The new ballast has black, white, 2 blue, and red wires.
