Floor Seating at Concerts

I'm thinking about getting floor seats for The Eagles concert at Wells Fargo in Sept. Is this a good or bad idea? What are your experiences with floor seating?

Never been to a concert at Wells Fargo. I had floor seats four times for big concerts in Hilton. Once we were 20 some rows back and I was worried about being able to see the stage. That was not a problem and I found the sound quality much better on the floor. I could actually understand the lyrics and what the bands were saying between songs where I usually could not higher up.

Thanks for the response. Still not sure what I am going to do but would definitely love to try floor seating sometime

Back when you used to camp out for tickets for concerts at Hilton, our rule of thumb was if you couldn't get first 20 rows on the floor then go for the arena circle.

I agree with the 20 row theory of practice. At the Well I've been back 16-18 rows and its ok. After that I usually go for the seats on the side.

I'm assuming you're male, & you're taking a female (girlfriend, wife). How tall is she?

Sound quality is great on the floor, and if people stay seated it's a great experience. However, that rarely happens. And at 5'2", I'm lucky to see the tops of their heads when they're at the edge of the stage. Otherwise...yeah, I stare at the backs in front of me.

DING! The height question is really important. I'm also 5'2 and unless I'm at the front I see nothing. My tall husband sees over everyone's head, I just see butts and backs.

Nearly had a fisticuff with little (okay, not so little) chickadee in the seat in front of me at tourney in KC this year. We're in the upper deck and she never sits down. And, not just stand there, but stand with hands on the back of her head, arms and elbows splayed out. My husband was tall enough to see around her - me, not so much.

When I can't see I lose interest in whatever is happening and then I get feisty and want to engage in all out warfare. It's not a good scene.

Sure you were! :)

It's a big joke to anyone who hasn't had to deal it...I just never saw the point in spending extra money on floor seats to "see" someone live if I'm not going to SEE them.
I'm about 6'1" and every once in a while I have trouble seeing at concerts. Legitimately.

Sitting on his shoulders would solve that problem.

Only had floor seats once and ended up along the railing first row. Problem is I'm 6'7". I felt uncomfortable most of the concert worrying about the people behind me. I ended up "only" about 5 rows back letting people in front of me, while my wife stayed in the front. That being said, sound quality and being able to see them singing with out watching the huge screens made it totally worth it.

Damn, you let your wife stand alone at a concert? I'd get too ****** from all the guys trying to rub up on her that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the show.

I took my girlfriend to Lady Antebellum in KC for Valentines Day and thought I was going to win some brownie points for spending extra money by purchasing floor seats. I didn't even think about the height thing.... and my girlfriend is about 5'3. It was a mistake. She had to move so she could see between two guys shoulders, and at a concert like that it would have been nice to be able to sit down every once in awhile like most of the people in the arena were doing. Everyone on the floor stood the entire time. Because of our experience there I won't be buying floor seats again.

I'm old, so don't anyone get ****** at me, but the chances are at an Eagles concert the average age of the attendees is going to be 50 or more. So there probably will be some significant sitting spells.

I like the floor if I'm in the first 50% of the rows. After that - meh.

The only and best exception was a McCartney concert in Chicago. We were in the front row of the second section, so there was a big gap between us the the next row, so that was pretty great.

The Eagles? Most people won't be able to get out of their wheelchairs to stand anyway.

I believe most people agree that the Eagles are legitimately the worst band of all time.
