I can't believe we can't be more creative in these. So far this season we have run between the tackles on all but one turnover. The one time we didn't, TD. Is Campbell trying to make a statement by running it right at them?

I said the same thing to those near me at the game. All the excitement of a turnover and we kill it all by running the same play we run about 30% of the time for 0 to 3 yards.

Yep, if I have one complaint, it's that we often run 1st and 2nd down early in the game. Late game I understand doing that, but I'd love to see more creativity early game. I think it's just a risk averse mindset.

It seems like when we get free downs we use them to establish our identity.

Is two months too long to wait for that identity?

It's not necessarily bad if ISU is still trying to run it to make opponents prep for it, but after an INT? Keep the pressure on and fling it.

I remember TCU going for yard after an ISU turnover in the Houston Bowl and thinking 'that's how you play to win' after seeing ISU meltdown to end that 2005 season at KU.

I like how we would run the ball on first and second down the entire game and then when we got backed up on the 5 yard line we decided to throw it and it results in a Tech TD. The one situation where you just run the ball and we don’t even though that’s what we did the entire game

Our o-line has quite a few starts under their belt so I don't get why they are still so bad. Other than Knipfel the rest of the group just does not seem to get it.

Couple things. First, besides Knipfel this line is just not very physical or quick. Hopefully some of the younger guys are going to develop into a physical line, but that is a year or two away. Second, ISU is extremely predictable, especially on first down. Lots of off tackle stuff as noted in this thread. For some reason they have really gotten away from attacking the middle of the field with passes, which makes the LBers take drops instead of keying on DM.

Quite a few starts isn’t much. We start a redshirt freshman and a 279lb walkon that was on the scout team defensive line at this time a year ago. JGJ is in his first year at LT.

There’s no KO for the guys to rely on. We also ask them to do things they’re not naturally good at and make it easy on the defense.

I can drink allot of Busch light anytime because it is cheap or I have to stay sober longer but enjoy the taste of some top shelf stuff. If you don't get my drift, I'll be more direct. CMC by attitude is leading this group for the long haul. Maybe, 'we will run the darn ball down their throats today, tomorrow, etc etc.
None of us knows what he communicates with them. We need to leave it go and TRUST THE PROCESS.

Just my Midwest opinion.

He needs to hire an OC that will call something besides Minty up the middle for no gain on first and sometimes second down to. Easy to defend.

as tech was completely shutting down our rushing attack for 3 plus quarters and getting good pressure on passing downs, I was disappointed to not see a screen or draw to put them back on their heals. Not that I want to go back to throwing horizontal passes 70% of the game again, but sprinkling them in here and there could be effective.

Yeah, lets quit this crap! Lets go back to doing what CPR did when we got a turnover, we were a lot better back then!!!!

Do I need to say jimlad?

Seriously folks, we can seem to complain about a lot of things. If we win the game, I quit complaining instantly. All I care about. We could run 50 draw plays, and if we win, I don't care anymore.
