First Ben Visser column: Can Iowa State make the hype into reality?

Hello everyone! Tis' the wrestling season!

I can't remember if I had mentioned this but Ben is going to be writing this season. I am very excited because he's a very talented writer. I think he'll be a great balance to the coverage the same way we're a good balance as podcast hosts together! Our podcast will make it's return next week. We record on Monday.

He isn't super active on the message boards so I'll make sure to get his stuff shared in here unless he decides he wants to be active!

Only issue i saw is with Feldkamp, he placed 7th last year not 3rd. Otherwise good article!

I believe he also had 6 losses last year, and they weren’t all to Brooks/Coleman.

Also, I hope he’s right, but seems a bit ambitious to expect a sell out for the Iowa dual. When is the last time a dual sold out. I sure haven’t seen it in the last decade.

Ben alluded to the rankings. I see Swiderski is ranked and obviously not redshirting. I assume it was due to Paniro not wrestling this year. Was hoping Casey would redshirt to get stronger and to help get off the bottom.

Coleman was in the same boat where he could never get off bottom but totally changed it around. So hope Casey has been working at it this off season. His offense is great. But it was tough to see him this past year not shoot for the fear of extending himself and being taken down himself.

Paniro was suspended so there wasn’t many options. I’m sure everything is back on the table as far as who may RS.
