How come every now and then it will ask for a product to be installed, which is already installed?

I went to a Native American site that has a streaming radio station, when I clicked it on Firefox said I needed a plug-in - which was Windows Media Player 11, which I have.

Then I used IE and ran the station with no problem. Why?

Firefox needs a plugin to allow WMP to play in it.

IE does not.
