Finals

I always was a person who "crammed" for tests. I also seemed to miss a class from time to time for various reasons.

I still have a dream/nightmare from time to time that I walk into a class for the first time and I have to take the final exam... And if I don't pass I won't graduate...

I've been out of school for 7 years now... and it still happens.

Alcohol usuallt destroys the bad brain cells so the good brain cells can perform better.

I do not recommend No Doze. It makes you feel too confident.

My Gosh!! I have this same dream too...and I have it ALOT! It doesn't get any better with time...I've been out of grad school for 14 years now...

As a little variation, I also have one where I've lost the finals schedule and I don't know where to go to take the test.

I enjoy most of my dreams, but I really hate this one...and the one where I cause a little fender bender with some aribtrary car...

I'm a junior, and I've yet to have that dream. The only time I was really stressed during finals was my first semester freshman year because it was a new experience.

For me, the "finals" dream didn't start until several years after school...

I'm a crammer. I like to study the night before and have a horrible habit of skipping a class to study for the exam in the following class. I'm a self-assessed "lazy student" and I frequently forget about WebCT homeworks, do readings the day before, skip class if it's in a lecture hall and I'm anonymous, etc. Somehow I pull off decent grades.

During finals I always go to the 2nd floor of Parks and go to the area where they have laptop tables that have just one chair, a desk, and wall plug-ins. I plug in my computer, look up whatever I have to on the internet (related to class), and turn on my iTunes. I HAVE to have music playing to study. I go crazy sitting in a silent room and eventually started singing in my head anyway, so might as well listen to something I enjoy.

It works for me.

Yeah... same here... And man it can be totally freaky. I will wake up worried that I won't graduate...

The freaky thing for me is that in the dream, I know that I already have my degrees, but I feel they aren't legitimate or that they may be taken away because I haven't passed this final...

Something for you young'uns to look forward to.

I started my finals plan from day one of the class. I had a ISU football jersey with my name on the back. I told all the professors I was on the team and didn't show up to Friday class when they team was on the road. Since the Professors thought I was on the team I never had to take a final, and passed all my classes.

About midway through the semester, I would get a book on the subject we were studying that was not written or published by the same people who did the text. I would then read it through without memorization or doing exercises, with the attitude of gaining additional perspective on the subject.

Then, toward the end of the semester, I just review the problems/exercises/main points.

I wish this thread would just die already, I come to this site to avoid thinking about finals...

I know, I know... Don't post in it than, it's just when I refresh "New Posts" it's there mocking me...
