This was from his Soph year. Even though this was his lesser shooting year out of the two he was at Troy you can really see the potential Coach Prohm and his Staff see in Javan. I think with another year to develops under the Iowa State Coaches this kid will be a killer in the rotation. His game really reminds me of Talley but with a dependable jump shot.

He’s has good bounce and finishes nicely around the rim. He doesn’t have much of a follow through on his shot. What was his 3 pt percentage last year?

I could post all my cap city highlights of his but I won’t because I know how people view that league. I’m a big fan of his after watching him this summer. Capable shooter, good at getting to the rim and he’s a good athlete. I’m excited to see what he can do next year after this sit out season.

That may be the fastest I've ever hit the mute button on a highlight video in my life.

He looked competent and should be better as a redshirt junior than most freshman we otherwise would have.

I get the feeling Johnson will be the under the radar player that no one is really talking about next year who impacts the roster significantly. There are some Nader vibes athletic SF who can hit a 3, with pro potential who at the time of his commitment didn;t excite the fan base.
At the time he committed Goodman tweeted that he talked to a coach that felt he has a real shot to play in the NBA,

For whatever reason, I had him pegged as a 3 that kind of leaned towards a 4. From that video, I think he plays more like a guard. His shot is far from perfect but he gets it off quick, that combined with his length makes me think he'll have no problem finding shots against bigger, more athletic players in our league.

Which position can he best defend? Hopefully he’s got the length and athletic ability to defend multiple positions, but with our current roster for 2020-21, I think he’s going to help a lot as a small-ball four. In terms of recency bias, he seems a lot like Talley, but with the green light to shoot 3Ps.Talley never got the role his talent afforded imo.

I’m excited to get someone that our staff (Kane) have followed for several years that’s long, decently athletic, can shoot 3Ps some and can handle some.

I think he’ll be a very good role player as an upperclassmen. His advanced numbers are fairly modest for someone that took and made a good amount of 3Ps and didn’t have hero ball usage. That should improve here imo.
