A beagle, I wish we had rabbits near our yard...the bred-in instincts are amazing.

I've heard that you can use hair (human or pet) in the flowerbed and that will keep them away.

Well, I accidentally mutilated a baby rabbit in my yard a couple weeks ago while mowing the lawn. Totally didn't see it and the blade ripped that thing into shreads.

...anyway, I haven't seen the rabbits as much lately.

A pellet gun is probably more precise, and legal.
I use a pellet gun, but this is not legal where I live. If you can get it out the window, that is the best way.

Not legal in most towns/cities I'm sure, especially 'metro' areas.

If you have access to blood (ie butcher shop) sprinkle a little around -- has worked for my family for years

I use a live trap with carrotts as bait and have caught 4 in the last week.
I call it my relocation program

You know that a rabbit in a live trap will swim like heck for about a minute, don't you?

Personally, I find a CB Long out of a long-barrelled .22, especially when fired from within a structure is quiet, efficient and no-one really notices. Just be sure of your backstop, first.
