That is a great line-up and I really like Hendrix.

I love Hendrix. Probably my favorite artist of all time, but I have zero interest in this. Part of what makes Hendrix Hendrix is that his music just drips with his own personal touches. Every ounce of him goes into his songs. I have no interest in seeing someone else's take on Voodoo Child. I'd rather listen to Jimi's take.

Your loss then. KWS's live performance of Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) is worth a listen any time. Buddy Guy is just crazy good entertainment, unbelieveable at his age. Mato Nanji isn't that far off of SRV, and that just scratches the surface of the list of players.

Agree. Even if you don't really like Hendrix's music, or are too much of a purist, $55 is worth seeing all those people on stage at once. I had to double check to make sure it was true or the list was just a sample of folks who rotate through difference locations.

When I first heard this advertised I had a hard time believing there was really a show at Stephen's featuring all those guys. To bad I'm going to be out of town or I'd be there.

Have seen Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang (separately) at a place in Des Moines in the last few years. It would be awesome to see them in a place like Stephens.

Anyone in on this?

EXPERIENCE HENDRIX TOUR | March & April 2014 Tour Dates, Venues & Ticket Information

Looking forward to going. Saw Kenny Wayne at Val Air a few years ago and his Voodoo Chile was amazing. Mato Nanji from Indigenous sounds an awful lot like SRV in both playing and voice. Buddy Guy for some old school blues, Eric Johnson and Zakk Wylde live could be interesting. Zakk was on the Metal Show a few weeks ago and they showed a picture of him when he was 18 and Ozzy had just hired him. He had the 80's poofed up hair and one of the guys said he looked like an 18 year old girl. Then they said now he looks like a guy that kidnaps 18 year old girls.

Any concert in CY is awesome. I feel acoustics are so much better than DSM Civic Center. Saw Bonamassa in CY and then a year later in Civic Center and sound was so much better in CY. Is there any truth to the rumor that Led Zeppelin wanted to record a live album in CY the year that it opened but the powers at ISU said no way?
