"Everybody's getting in the game!"

SIAP but thought it was good enough it deserved its own thread. This is how you rally a team through adversity. Love TJ and can't wait to get to March Madness. With the recruiting classes we're lining up, things are looking good in Ames.

“YOU have a chance to get a loose ball, YOU have a chance to get a loose ball…” sounds like TJ’s been watching a little Oprah?!?

I love this new "rotation." It gets our starters a few extra minutes of rest per game, and it brings a huge boost of energy to everyone. You know you're going to get max effort from the end-of-the-bench guys playing meaningful minutes, and it gets the main rotation players fired up too.

And the fact that those guys can compete in the middle of the game with top 10-15 talent has me super excited for March Madness.

TJ did like a TJ 2.0 with a week left in the season.

They're leaving it all out there and everything is icing from here.

Think it shows just how strong of a culture they’re building when those guys can come in and make plays. They aren’t just turning it on for a couple games, they’ve been working just as hard as everyone else.

Absolutely love it. Never understood coaches not using their whole bench. Those guys are all having fun and playing for each other.

Refs have a tendency to not call as many fouls in tournaments, so when guys like Eli go in and commit 1-2, it actually holds down some calls on the others.

I can’t think of a coach in the country who gets better results per unit of talent. There’s no nba guy on this team

Ya its got me all warm and fuzzy too. Freaking TJ man. I doubted him early on but I'm sold for life.

I think this is a beautiful thing. It always reminds me of I think it was Peterson at Boise State (football) talking about how many guys they would play. They might run a package with the third or fourth TE and run a screen to him. He might go heavy for a couple plays each week with the third tackle or the third Guard. He might get a series where the backup fullback gets a carry.

He put that stuff in the game plan every week. It might only be a few plays, but on offense he might play 20 guys. He might get 10 guys touches on offense every week. It was really simple. Coaches talk about guys being ready when their number is called and expect them to practice hard and stay engaged “just in case.” Yet those coaches don’t really do anything to help them stay engaged and practicing at a high level. When guys know they are going to play meaningful snaps in football or meaningful minutes in basketball, they are going up the level of practice with consistency. It’s just human nature. That elevates execution, intensity and focus in practice for everyone.

To pick nits, but ultimately agree with you: he’s not there yet, but Watson certainly has the tools. If he develops his shot, he’s a prototype NBA 3-and-D guy.

Love the new rotation, Watson and Ward are chaos causers. Only gripe with Watson is he lets the defense talk him into taking bad shots. When the leave him open he needs to attack the rim, he had open lanes every time. They aren't just playing of of him, they are ignoring him.
