ESPN reports Chizik hired as Auburn head coach

This is beyond surreal. A 5-19 coach leaves ISU to assume the reigns at a SEC power school. I think we should change our mascot to Charlie Brown. Seems appropriate at this point.

Am I the only one who was clueless about this:The Iowa State administration rewarded Chizik's leadership and vision for the program by offering him a two-year contract extension following this season. The Auburn University Official Athletic Site - Football

This past season Chizik lead the Cyclones to a 2-10 record and 0-8 in the Big 12, losing his last 10 games. The 2-10 record he posted is a bit missleading, it was a bad 2-10. During his time at ISU his teams struggled with getting plays in on time. The Defense didnt know what do to most of the time. His team also broke the ISU recored for personal fouls in a year. His team was one of the highest penltized teams in the country. His defense and offense ranked close to last in the country in everyway possable. His hire was a huge buzz at ISU. The buzz started to wear off after he hired 2 close friends as his OC and DC, that had a whole different FB phlosphy than Chizik. During games Chizik walked around a lot, not really doing or saying much. Every once and awhile he would yell at an asst coach at times they would yell back and forth on what to do. At the end of the 2008 season he domoted his OC and DC.

can play Auburn soon in a bowl if they can qualify.
