ESPN Plus gets OSU v. K-State prime time game ...

There is also a very good chance that by Sept. 28th all ESPN channels will be unavailable via any of the AT&T sources, (AT&T U verse, AT&T TV Now or DirecTV), and only those with those services who also subscribe to ESPN+ will have access to the ESPN channels. (This from someone claiming to be a retired TV exec)

LOL welcome to last week!

I give a **** because that could happen to us.
It will happen to us likely next year when the rest of the conference (minus OU and Texas) gets rolled into ESPN+. Between Disney/ESPN skyrocketing DirecTV rates (and still in dispute) and going all in on ESPN+/Disney+, I think they are showing their intention is pretty clear they want to eliminate the middle men that are cable/satellite companies and the Big 12 Now/ESPN+ channel is the guinea pig.

Cyclone fans, if you do not give a rip now, you will next fall. E$PN+ will become the unofficial Big 12 network for you and will be for everyone in the conference except for Oklahoma and Texas. Any game in any of the major sports not picked up by one of the broadcast or cable networks will magically appear on E$PN+ if they so please. I am talking soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, women's softball, and men's football and baseball. You will either subscribe to E$PN+, attend the game in person, or not see it. It will not be on cable nor on any streaming services except for E$PN+. Fans will have a vast array of Big 12 contests available provided they are willing to ante up.

I have already bit the bullet and subscribed. I have watched 2 soccer and 2 football games so far. There has not been any technical difficulties (lag or buffering) during the broadcasts. You will get a steady dose of home team broadcast talent. Please to NOT expect unbiased commentary.

Is it possible that ESPN Plus games to be picked up by a local station? I remember watching Drake basketball games on Mediacom Connections 22? Very similar when Iowa State basketball games was on ESPN Plus way way back like 15 or 20 years ago.

Nope. They may use the feed of a local broadcast (they pick up the Panther Sports Net feed for UNI games and redistribute to ESPN+) but games that are exclusive to ESPN+ are ESPN+ only.

The Valley has been on that platform for 4 years now and I have had zero issues or complaints. Its a really good service.

Less than zero. IMO. I still can't believe the Big XII sold out and gave up rights to Disney. This does cost less than Cyclones.TV (for now).

I wasn't surprised after Fox decided to not carry the Big 12 championship game.

At that point we needed an outlet for that game and Disney needed content for EPSN+

The conference probably made out ok on the championship game and could (could) do ok on ESPN+ if the fan bases put their money where their mouth is and actually buy the service.

If you'd like ISU to continue pulling in 40 million+ a year in TV money, it's gonna cost you $5 a month to get ESPN+.

It's the same functionality as MLB.tv (which works extremely well) and people will like the interface much more than Cyclones.tv.

Is it really only $5/month?

I might actually pick it up as I don't get ESPNU or ESPNews and I can see ISU being on those networks quite a bit this basketball season and possibly in football too.

ESPN+ does not carry any ESPN network. It is completely seperate. If ISU is on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, SEC Network (or any online SEC Network components), ACC Network (or any online ACC Network components) - none of those are on ESPN+. Never have been.

Ah, **** then. Have to figure into Sling again.

Won't do it though until I officially know it's needed.

Yes, you can subscribe on a month to month basis. It renews every month unless you call or email and cancel. They do not give refunds.
