EPL Relegation Predictions - 2023

Finally some levity from you - poorly conceived and executed, but credit should be given for trying. Time to be done with this thread - a “dude” who quotes Mean Girls and Princess Bride can’t be reasoned with - I’m out!

When did I quote mean girls? And yeah princess bride, a pretty well known cult film.

Well I mean, you were completely wrong in assuming I can see your signature. So yes, it is your problem.
Is there anything you won't try to make an argument out of? You must have a lot of time on your hands during that long flight to London for the trophy-less parade for 2nd place.

Speaking generally here, but supporting a European/PL soccer team as an American comes with some caveats.

There’s a few reasons you might pick a team to support:
- You have a connection, be it a trip you took or family fandom or you just like the colors
- The team has a US Player you like to root for
- They’re based in a cool place you’d love to visit
- The team is frequently on TV (the best teams are usually on TV, in league play or European tournaments)

Seeing a team on TV has never been more accessible these days. For a long time, you pretty much had to pick a team that wouldn’t be relegated. Otherwise you risked never being able to watch them through traditional means.

As a result, Americans have flocked to top half teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Liverpool, etc. Frankly, these teams are safe to pick. A decade ago, Spurs was a trendy team to pick because you would never be accused of a front runner, but you had the benefit of riding the wave up if they happened to get better (they did).

No one wants to be a “Glory Hunter”, but fandom really is an investment in future happiness.

I don’t knock “new” Leicester fans, especially if their title run got people hooked to watch soccer. I would be disappointed to know a LCFC supporter who dropped them with relegation and started supporting Man City or something.

Long story short, support your team through up and down. Grow the game. Have fun.
