I still don't believe the to Rockets are a serious contender. Too many other teams with better depth and overall talent. San Antonio will fade in a couple years but not sure Howard is durable to lead a team in a few years.
He'll be fine. Asik was basically a slower, less athletic version of D12 who doesn't play as good of defense. Houston just got so much better with D12 joining the roster. And Asik could be traded for a rebounding forward who has a pretty good offense game.
The Rockets are now at least a top 5 team in the Western Conference and a top 10 team in the league.
Harden, Lin, Howard as your big three isn't championship caliper. They traded away all their young PF depth. Not sure they got much in the draft just a lot of unknowns. McHale is making a lot of make or break deals that don't seem to be going his way.

Royce isn't going to make it anywhere in the NBA anyway. Not unless he changes his ways quite a bit.
Hearing Houston is going to trade Asik. Possible scenario would be a sign and trade to ATL for Josh Smith. Harden, Parsons, Smith, and Howard makes a pretty good core.
Asik doesn't want to play with Howard, so an S&T with the Hawks might happen. Lin/Asik for Smith/Horford is a real possibility.

I would think the number of teams trying to get Asik would be lower because of that 14-15 year.
