Duck Hunting

Does anyone duck hunt in the Ames area? I love to go duck hunting, but don't have any place to go around Ames. If you are a duck hunter and wouldn't mind some company, or have a pond that ducks like to fly into, and wouldn't mind someone taking care of a few of them please let me know.

north of hwy 30 it opens, south of 30 is a no-no until the 23rd.

either drive north to big wall lake, or find a place along the DSM or skunk river. Peterson pits is a waste of time IMO. Not too much for good public land right around Ames that is north of hwy-30. finding a farmer who'll let you hunt or a butt buddy on here would be ideal
