Pretty excited about this news. Just in the last year I've been to a few of these in Milwaukee, NYC, CR(NEWBO), and St. Paul and each time thought it would be a great addition to Des Moines. The key is to have the right vendors but I could see this being a huge hit.

I've been to one of these in Cleveland, of all places, and it was really cool. With the popularity of the Farmer's market, this would be well received, I would think.

Also went to something similar in Portland, called the night market. Basically, a big indoor market, but with lots of booze. I don't think it opened until late in the evening, and went until the wee hours of the night.

The NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids is pretty cool. I only went once but I would have loved to try food from about 8 of their vendors.
