Can anyone recommend a good contractor in the Des Moines area? We have some damage from the storm a couple Sundays ago (roofing, drywall, siding, etc). Insurance will cover it, but I'm looking for recommendations of company/people that others have used and liked. Thanks!

We had the exact same thing happen to us - a tree from the neighbor's property fell and crashed through our roof. We hired a guy by the name of Tom Turner - he's done a lot of quality and reasonable work for us in the past. He handled everything - even worked with the insurance adjuster when hidden damage was discovered. He basically put everything back in order for us in a week.

If you're interested or want his contact info PM me.

We have used a company in Grimes a couple of times (bad luck on our house) They were recommended to us by our insurance company. www.restore4u.com

I don't think insurance companies are supposed to refer customers to anyone. That sounds a little fishy to me.

Do It All Drywall, if you want to sub things out individually. Craig is a good guy and big Cyclone booster.

I worked a bit for him years ago, and he did a little patching work on my house. Again, good guy and has the right affiliations. Probably could recommend somebody to do the other work - and certainly could point you away from some people as well.
