Drinking Water ruined?

So a kid pees in the water reservior, and "contaminates" 30 million gallons of water? With what, like a cup of urine? The city is going to drain it all at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Wonder what they do when a goose craps in it?

Surely it goes through a final filtration before it is pumped back into the supply chain.....? I can't believe that a treated water sourse is pumped directly into the city's supply without some kind of final treatment.

Is it necessary to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Oh. My pipes are clean. But, they do treat waste water here and put it back into the drinking supply. I know the hydrologic cycle and filtering, but I'd like to not think of fairly recent whiz in my drinking water
