So I feel like that's been the "rule" for years, but whenever I'm back for a game I always see a couple lingering vehicles there the next morning. At least after night games. Do they make the occasional exception?
The lot by the greenhouses had a couple of ISU police officers walking through it on Saturday telling people they could not tailgate on campus. Only in designated lots. They were nice and didn't make people shut down this week, but I think they will moving forward from the sounds of it.The hot free tailgating spot is the east parking deck, but you have to get there pretty early. Lots by Forker also an easy walk.
Spots up by Lied go fast too.
There is a good tailgating group up by the greenhouses.
Can often find a spot by State Gym/Helser.
The place that is a longer walk but always has open free parking is up by the Biorenewables complex north of Howe.

But if they are tailgating in the RV lot and just using it for parking then it's an easy spot in and out.
