I'm sure there have been other polls in the past about donating but with recent news wanted to get a pulse check from the CF community on who does/doesn't donate to Iowa State athletics. Maybe those in the know with the Athletic Department or the "collective" can use this information to help with their fundraising campaigns.

For me personally I fall under the ,"Yes - I donate only required minimum but have the ability to donate more (can be to AD, NIL, etc.)" category.

After seeing the numbers out there about our fanbase rank among our conference peers and what it would take for us to compete in the NIL market, it is eye opening. I'm not a fan of "paying to be a fan" but maybe we need a mindset change. I know I can do better. I love Iowa State and want it to stay competitive.

Go Clones

Let me know if you have other answers you would like that would better reflect people's status.

I have always done more than needed for my seats and parking. Recently bumped it a bit, in 2021 because I thought covid was hard on things.

I'm going to have to think long and hard about any NIL donation. It seems a little like battling a forest fire with a garden hose. But the alternative is bleaker yet... o_O

Title is "Do you donate to Iowa State?" But only the last choice implies donation other than to athletics. What about those who donate to athletics AND other ISU entities?
Question: what does your third choice mean? "Yes - I donate more than the required minimum amount already"

I used to donate to the History Dept Fund via the Iowa State Foundation. I don’t donate to athletics.
We donate to a scholarship. I love ISU Athletics but I also love the University as a whole.

Husband and I both went to grad school at Notre Dame. They have a donation requirement for better football ticket access but you can designate where the donation goes throughout the university, not just the Athletics Department, so we designate ours to student scholarships there.

I just donate to the Cy Club for athletics (and I guess now to the Gridiron Club via Amazon Smile). I don't focus on minimums because I don't get tickets, etc. I imagine I'm above the minimum, but really haven't paid any attention to those numbers.

This was only supposed to relate to donating to athletics anyways. I've updated the title if that helps

Third choice means, if you are donating more than the minimum donation required for your tix, parking, donation, etc. Example: For your football tix it requires a minimum donation of $500 but you choose to donate $1000 instead. You would fall into this category especially if you dont plan on giving any more.

Select the second to last answer if you plan to donate more.

I have (had?) non donor FB tickets but we chip in for a donation to get decent RV parking for our tailgating bus. So it is definitely more than required for our tickets and not insignificant but not a high roller either.

FB games become expensive since we are coming down from Minnesota for every game weekend.

We are also lifetime Alumni Association members.

There's no option for what I do.

I go to a couple football and a couple basketball games every year, but that's it. That's about all I want to spend, and honestly all I really want to go to.... watching on TV is better IMO.... but I do really enjoy attending a few games each year in person.

Donated the minimum to be eligible for football parking for the first time this year. We bought non donor football season tickets though. Have also done some small donations through the ISU foundation to other areas of the university and are alumni association members.

I do the 110% donation every year. I'm not donating A TON but I atleast have confidence that our AD watches money better than almost any other AD in the Country.

Donating to a state institution would be way, way down on my donate-to list. But to each his own.
