Direct TV vs. Dish Network for Cyclone sports

I currently have Direct TV but am getting tired of price increases. I’ve had several discounts that I’ve gotten from threatening to leave, but they are all expiring and my package price has nearly doubled. It appears that since ATT took over that they have clamped down on retention discounts. Does anyone have Dish Network and know if I’ll be able to get the same access to Iowa State football and men’s basketball games that I currently get with Direct TV? Streaming isn’t a good option for me due to living in the country without good access to high speed internet.

There are three poster on here that are really knowledgeable on this and should be responding soon.

I call DTV every year or so. My bill just went from 120 to a little over $60 and they threw in the Sunday ticket. I’m pretty sure I was in month 9 of 12 and they still did it. . I think with their local dispute with Nexstar; they are doing about everything possible to satisfy customers.

I haven’t experienced anything on Dish that I can’t get for Iowa State. I actually get LHN, ACCN, and PAC 12 network. There are things I like about DirecTV better but Dish has been ok for the first 8 months or so.

Yeah, my Dad in Arizona (long retired) wanted to upgrade so that he could get FS1 this season, and they told him if he did he’d lose lots of channels that he and my stepmom watch—apparently including all of the local stations. What the heck?

I think I’ll have to tell him to check out Dish. No, cutting the cord isn’t an option. Complicated = Bad.

We have also done the annual call to the retention dept and received significant discounts. Called last week and they said they had nothing to offer to keep our business.

Had dish for years and get everything Iowa state that’s on. They each go through disruptions (HBO still not available) but dish is good about throwing you discounts or stuff for free if you call in and complain. You lock in stuff for 1 to 2 years and they have been good about keeping me around the same price even if the package goes up with different discounts.
