Dez Bryant to remain suspended for year

I heard the NCAA quoted as saying they were lenient with Bryant on this decision, I'd say this is pretty harsh. Maybe it was his spelling of "panicked"?

Regardless, IMO, he's going to the NFL after the season.

This is bad. They want kids to return to school and do the right thing. The NCAA is stuck in the 70's. Before kids were bailing for the Pro leagues. They are so far behind the times. He should have had a 2 game suspension. The kid is a first round draft choice last year. This is why kids should go pro early. The NCAA tries to screw them.

Raise your hand if you fully expected him to be reinstated on Nov 6?

(raises hand)

It could still happen as the reinstatement committee has yet to rule on the case. In Lucca's case, they simply rubber stamped the original ruling. It's a different group of members, however, and OSU is expected to submit an appeal to them this week.

I've got to believe that the NCAA has more information than what they are letting out. I'm guessing that they suspect or have evidence that there was some sort of agent sales pitch that would cause him to be ineligable. To have simply lied to the NCAA about practice time would not have been this harsh.

Wow, suspended for what really ends up being 2 years for lying about something that isn't against the rules. Way to go NCAA!
