I currently have Qwest as my internet provider and they are starting to irritate me with there billing charges. I currently have the DSL 1.5Mbps option through Qwest. In the Des Moines area are there any other providers, specifically in Ankeny? The only two that I really can find anything on is Qwest and Medicom. Just trying to keep my options open.

I'd go cable. You can get DSL from Freese or Iowa Telacom, but Qwest is still doing the actual copper so you aren't really avoiding them.

Has anyone used the internet access that DirectTV offers? (sorry to hijack the thread)

Yeah, and I would only recommend it, or any satellite alternative, unless it's the last option. I prefer the wireless cards the cell providers have over satellite.

What are they doing to make you mad? I pay $32/month for my qwest. I was paying $60/month for Mediacom.

How are they annoying you? I get the same bill every month for the last 10 years.

I have moved recently across town and I kept my same phone number. I used to pay like $60 for phone and internet and now I am paying $88. They say that since I moved the package I was under is no longer available, even though I didn't change phone numbers. Now they advertise for $99 phone, internet and direct tv. So for $11 more dollars I could get direct tv.

Does $88 include long distance?
