Dental Insurance Q

Dental insurance sucks.

I bumped this thread just to say that.

Ha! I did get my money from them. It took until about March. And then they totally ****** up a health insurance issue which took until July to deal with and multiple threats to report them to the state before it was resolved. Don't ever trust what the people tell you over the phone. Because the number of times I was given blatantly incorrect information was.........high.

FYI I'll also say I called the state office of insurance or whatever it was and still need to file my complaint. My spouse works in property/home insurance and he confirmed that if a claim does get tied to a commission complaint, it gets escalated internally, FAST. So for anyone else dealing with **** like this, know that's a decent lever to pull.

There's really no reason for dentistry to even be something that requires insurance.

I always have refused it because a family of five with decent oral health and regular checkups won't even cost what their dental insurance premiums will on an annual basis. But in our case, the premiums would not be subsidized by anyone.

We say no a lot on the upsell items, and we do shop around to check pricing at times. But I agree with you, dental insurance is a scam, Spam.

Can confirm. Was at dentist for routine cleaning and x-rays. Even with insurance, it was a lot. At least we are in a new flex year.
