Dejean Jones

I'd have a little more sympathy if he wasn't a 23 year old 5th year. Nader and Thomas I could understand, at that age you do some dumb ****. But by the time your 23, probably time to grow up a bit.

Five noise warnings by the cops? He had to have just been acting like a super **** if they bothered to arrest him on this. Deserves to sit for a bit for being an idiot.

I just don't know how you know the cops will come if you keep playing loud music, continue to play loud music, and let "your friends" light up. It's just begging for an arrest.

It sounds like the cops went above and beyond to help out BDJ, but he kept being an idiot. Maybe suspend him for the rest of the nonconference.

Police were called to Dejean-Jones’ apartment around 3 a.m. Thursday due to a noise complaint. The ISU senior answered the door and officers smelled burnt marijuana, according to Ames police commander Geoff Huff. The charge of hosting a drug house is a serious misdemeanor.

Dejean-Jones’ apartment had been an issue for local police recently as they’d visited it five separate times due to noise complaints. Huff said they worked with Dejean-Jones, other residents of the building and the ISU men’s basketball coaching staff to alleviate the issue, even creating a system for other residents to text Dejean-Jones if noise was became an issue.

Wow

BDJ obviously misses his time in Vegas when I saw the cops have visited his place 5 times for loud noise, probably OK in Vegas but definitely not in Iowa.

It was 5 noise complaints for the year, not just last night. But still idiotic.

Hard to fault the cops, or anyone else for that matter, on this one. As much as I'd love to see him play against Iowa, I'd feel awful dirty about it. Suspend him the rest of non-conference.

Looks like he was given every chance not to get into trouble. The sad thing his all he had to do was keep clean and be good for 4 months had he would have been set for life.

It seems strange that he got this drug house arrest but no one got busted for possession. Can you arrest someone based on smell alone?

If the story is true that they didn't even find anything they just smelled it then I say no suspension. Make him run and cut some minutes for being an idiot but if they couldn't even find any pot anywhere then all this is is the cops being stupid.
